About The Dallas Symphony Orchestra Guild<\/strong><\/p>

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra Guild\u00a0is a group of classical music lovers who are dedicated to deepening their knowledge and appreciation of classical music.<\/p>

That is our bond.<\/p>

We are from all walks of life, know each other on a first name basis and greet one another at the Symphony, the Guild, and other musical events. Sharing the music we love with friends makes it a more meaningful experience.<\/p>

Mission Statement<\/strong><\/p>

Supporting the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Classical Music in Dallas\/Fort Worth.<\/p>

The Purpose of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Guild is to support and promote the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through education and fundraising activities. The Guild is organized and operates as an auxiliary organization of the Dallas Symphony Association, Inc., which is a 501c(3). Contributions may be tax deductible.<\/p>

Under this mission statement, the Guild is serving the Dallas classical music community in the following ways:<\/p>

Adult Education<\/strong><\/p>

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra Guild underwrites the DSO\u2019s Performance Preludes. This unique, free series of lectures heightens attendees\u2019 enjoyment of their concert experience by expanding their knowledge of music.<\/p>

Fostering a Community of Music Lovers<\/strong><\/p>

Every Guild program is tailor-made for the classical music lover. Attendees to each luncheon or evening program are treated to a chance to meet and talk to the people that make the music with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and other artists in an atmosphere condusive to personal interaction with fellow classical music devotees. When our members and guests attend the symphony, they are always delighted to see and greet the new friends they have made through the Guild.<\/p>

Support Group<\/strong><\/p>

The Guild serves as a financial support group for the DSO by holding fund-raising events each year. Proceeds from our events provide funding for the DSO\u2019s Performance Preludes<\/em> pre-concert lecture series and for the Bach\u2019s Lunch<\/em> free educational programs available on various Fridays at the Meyerson. We also provide direct support for the general operations of Dallas Symphony Association and to DSO musicians.\u00a0<\/p>

The DSO GUILD GALA<\/strong><\/p>

The Gala is the primary fund raising event for the DSO Guild that underwrites the music education programs sponsored by the Guild each year.<\/p>
